Invest & Grow Rich update

October 30, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · 1 Comment

My next educational extravaganza, Invest & Grow Rich: The Millionaire Real Estate Investor Workshop, is only three nights away (Thursday, Nov 2, 7-8:30) , and I’m so excited. I’ve been reviewing and tweaking my presentation over the last few days, and it’s nearing completion.

One of my goals is to help people be wealthy, whether spiritually, emotionally, or financially. One of my daily affirmations is that I will ‘help thousands of people build their equity, and achieve financial freedom.’ These workshops are the best way I can do that. By providing proven models for wealth building from Gary Keller’s best selling Millionaire Real Estate Investor’ to dozens of people at a time, I can transform hundreds of lives a year through education. I think that’s pretty cool.

Come out on Thursday night! There are still a few seats left, and it’s a very informative evening. Promise!

On Entrepreneurship

October 29, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · Leave a Comment

Wayne Hurlbert, over at Blog Business World, has a fascinating post up this morning on the rising rate of entrepreneurship in our society.

Entrepreneurship has made a resurgence, in recent years, as a viable career option for many people. While starting, operating, and managing one’s own business isn’t for everyone, the pride of independent business ownership appeals to those individuals who want to be their own boss. Making one’s own decisions about the current and future direction of a company, and one’s own future, is both thrilling and satisfying.

For most of the Twentieth Century, the stress was placed on getting a good job that led to a lifetime career with a single company. Somewhere in the 1970s and 1980s, that idyllic concept flew right out of the window. By the end of the century, it was well established that everyone would have multiple careers with several widely differing employers. During that realization that careers in the traditional sense were fading into history, the older ideal of entrepreneurship made a triumphant return to glory.

Wayne has summed up many of the reasons why I’ve decided to start my own business, rather than go to work for someone else.  Read the whole thing, and let me know in the comments section of this post what you think of becoming an entrepreneur!

Make It Great!

October 28, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · Leave a Comment

Saturday night’s thought comes from Phil Gerbyshak, one of my favorite bloggers.

Consider this a reminder to you, from me, that you are GREATER than you’ll ever know. Believe it, and choose to be great!

You can read an interview I did with Phil a few months ago here.

Blog of the Day

October 28, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · Leave a Comment

About an hour ago I stumbled onto a blog I haven’t read before, Musician Christine Kane’s fantastic site. Christine’s blog touches on topics like Living Consciously, Discipline, Creating Reality and Purpose.

Think dignity. Think Princess Grace or Katharine Hepburn. Would these women of stature and honor and wealth ever stand in the grocery aisle biting their nails because the price of organic oat groats had gone up? (Would they even have bought organic oat groats?)

When I am most nervous that life isn’t going to turn out well, I bite my nails. It’s the ultimate activity of not trusting the flow of things. When I catch myself, I stop. I breathe. And I remember who I am. Being really abundant means letting go and trusting. There is absolutely nothing worth biting your nails over!

If you have a few minutes, visit Christine’s site (hat tip Career Intensity Blog).
Let me ask you this: What new blogs have you found recently? Let us know in the comments!

Can you act differently in your business and personal lives?

October 28, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · Leave a Comment

A great speaker, I believe either Jim Rohn or Brian Tracy once said that you cannot conduct yourself one way in business, and another way in your personal life.  If you cheat on your spouse, you will cheat your business partners or clients; If you don’t tell the shareholders every piece of pertinent information, you won’t hesitate to withhold important information from your spouse or a close friend.

Today, Seth Godin talks about people who justify acting a certain way by saying “It’s just business”

Anyone who is willing to lie to you, cheat you or treat you with disrespect because it’s just business is doing more damage to herself than to you.

Work takes too much time and too much emotion for it to be just work. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t want to spend time or money with anyone who has this particular attitude disfunction.

Well said, Seth

Dan Tudor Admits I’m Savvy

October 27, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · Leave a Comment

Dan Tudor, who I recently blog’d about here, posted a message I sent him on his blog today.  He was kind enough to call me a ‘Savvy Real Estate Agent.’

I’ve been reading his blog for months now, so it’s pretty cool that he linked to me from his blog, especially since Dan is a fairly well read blogger.  If you have’nt checked out Landing the Deal , get over there and have a look.

Invest & Grow Rich

October 27, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · 3 Comments

On Thursday, November 2nd, I will be leading one of my famous ‘educational extravaganzas’ on the topic of INVEST AND GROW RICH: Building Wealth through Smart Real Estate Investments. This event will take place at my office, 871 Victoria St, Kitchener ON (click for a map) from 7:00-8:30pm and is free of charge. Please RSVP (contact information below) by October 31st.
I’ll be sharing some of the reasons why Real Estate makes such a great investment vehicle, proven methods to build wealth through real estate, and how to find the right property. I’ll also be answering these questions. People who have been through this workshop have gone on to profitably invest in real estate, and we’ll show you how to do it the same way.

This workshop is modeled off of Gary Keller’s fantastic book, The Millionaire Real Estate Investor. I highly reccomend everyone purchasing the book, or at least browsing through it next time you’re at a bookstore.
If you have any questions about the event, please contact me via email, or at 519 772 4376.

Top Ten Real Estate Investment Questions

October 26, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · 1 Comment

Since I’ve started putting on Real Estate Investment seminars (see this post for information on my latest educational extravaganza), people have asked me all sorts of questions about investing. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to (try to) answer all of them. The top ten real estate investment questions I’ve recieved are below.

  1. Why should I invest in Real Estate?
  2. Isn’t it a risky investment?
  3. Can I buy an investment with 0% down?
  4. Is student housing risky?
  5. How do I invest in commercial office space?
  6. Do I have to deal with tenants myself?
  7. Can I afford an investment property?
  8. How can I time the market right?
  9. Does it make sense to have many smaller units, or one larger property?
  10. When can I buy my next property?

If you have a question, add it in the comments and I’ll make sure it’s answered as well.

How Realtors can weather a market slowdown

October 26, 2006 by Benjamin Bach · 1 Comment

Dan Tudor over at Landing the Deal has a great post on how Realtors can keep their business growing amidst a shrinking market.

  • Find ways to set yourself apart from the competition. Write a blog, hold free informational seminars, and focus on non-traditional advertising.
  • Focus on customer service.
I’m talking about the kind of customer service that gets talked about:
Daily updates, constant e-mails, and providing unexpected extras to
    your clients.
  • Get your feet on the street. If you have financial goals or needs that are going to be affected by a big price drop (which means a big commission
drop) then you need to start walking neighborhoods, talking to
potential sellers and buyers, and doing something that a lot of
realtors don’t like doing: Breaking a sweat and getting out of the
office to build some sales prospects.
